Application Configuration

Application Settings

Application Settings control preferences that belong to the app itself, not to a specific document and not to a printer setup. Open them from the application menu, or open the Command Menu and run Application Settings.

General

Use General settings for startup behavior, diagnostics, updates, and debug tools.

Reopen Last Document On Startup reopens the last document you used when Colonnes starts without another document passed at launch.

Send Error Reports Automatically allows Colonnes to send crash and diagnostic reports when something goes wrong.

Update Channel chooses between Stable, Beta, and Canary releases. Stable is recommended for normal work. Use Beta only when support asks you to test a fix or when you are comfortable with pre-release builds. Beta and Canary builds should not be used with important data.

Debug Mode exposes diagnostics for support and development. Disabled is the normal mode. Drag & Drop shows drag state, State opens state and transaction inspection, and Speed is available in the desktop app for rendering performance checks.

Interface

Use Interface settings to tune how dense or minimal the app feels while you work.

Theme chooses Auto, Dark, or Light. Auto follows your system preference.

Minimum Column Width controls the minimum width used for task columns. Wider columns give long task names more room; narrower columns fit more structure on screen.

Hide Help & Shortcuts removes contextual help and shortcut suggestions once you know the workflow.

Hide Column Headers hides the header area above columns.

Hide Column buttons in Header hides column action buttons such as print and stack buttons from column headers.

Hide App Toolbar hides the bottom application toolbar for a more focused workspace.

Hide Edit Mode Footer Hints hides the shortcut hints shown at the bottom of columns while editing.

Editor Triggers

Editor Triggers customize text sequences typed inside an item while editing.

Inline Command Trigger opens the inline command menu from inside the editor.

Heading Trigger turns an empty item into a heading.

Separator Trigger turns an empty item into a separator.

The three triggers must stay unique. If you clear a field, Colonnes falls back to its default trigger for that action.

For the item types created by these triggers, see Item Types.

Calendar

Calendar settings control the date picker shown beside the Calendar view.

Show Week Number displays week numbers in the calendar day picker.

Week Starts On chooses whether calendar weeks start on Monday or Sunday.

For the broader workflow between Columns and Calendar, see Columns & Calendar Views.
